Role Context

The Consultant Critical Care Specialist plays a vital role in saving lives and stabilizing patients with severe and life‑threatening conditions in the Intensive Care Unit. This position strengthens hospital excellence by leading complex critical care management, supporting emergency response, mentoring junior clinicians, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and clinical governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit
• Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support, hemodynamic monitoring, sepsis management, trauma care, and post‑operative intensive care
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthetists, cardiologists, and emergency physicians
• Conduct daily ICU ward rounds and review patient progress with timely clinical decision‑making
• Perform emergency procedures and provide urgent consultations during critical care situations
• Participate in on‑call duties and rapid response management for acute medical emergencies
• Maintain complete and accurate medical documentation in compliance with DHA regulations and hospital governance standards
• Supervise, mentor, and guide junior doctors, residents, fellows, and nursing staff within the ICU department
• Stay updated with the latest developments in critical care medicine through training, conferences, and continuous medical education
• Support clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree from an accredited and recognized institution
• Board Certification in Critical Care Medicine or equivalent specialist qualification
• Minimum five years of experience as a Consultant in an Intensive Care Unit setting
• Strong expertise in ICU management, ventilator support, and emergency critical care procedures
• Ability to work under pressure and make rapid, informed clinical decisions
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven record of high‑quality patient care and strong clinical outcomes
