Job summary

AECOM in Dubai is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead on-site supervision of building mechanical systems. You will oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with codes and project specs.

The role requires 8+ years of UAE construction site supervision, strong leadership, and ability to coordinate with contractors and managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in building construction site supervision as Mechanical Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and other building systems.
• Experience preparing technical reports and construction documentation.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment.
• Experience with construction projects in the United Arab Emirates.

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical installation activities on construction sites to meet design specs and quality standards.
• Inspect HVAC, plumbing, fire safety and building systems for proper installation and functionality.
• Analyze drawings and specs to identify issues and develop solutions.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare progress/compliance reports.
• Coordinate with contractors and other trades for system integration.
• Ensure safety, codes, and regulatory compliance across all phases.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation including inspection records and commissioning data.
• Communicate project status with managers and stakeholders.
• Participate in commissioning and handover procedures.
• Mentor on-site mechanical teams to maintain high performance.
