Job summary

A leading engineering firm is looking for an HSE Coordinator in Abu Dhabi. This role requires a minimum of 10 years' experience, particularly in large EPC projects within the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors. Key responsibilities include monitoring HSE policies, conducting job safety analyses, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Ideal candidates should hold an engineering degree and additional HSE certifications, with excellent communication and management skills being essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in HSE roles.
• Relevant experience in 3 major EPC projects, particularly in oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.
• Holding a NEBOSH GC/IGC certificate is an advantage.
• Diploma in safety or other HSE certification (ADNOC discretion).
• ADNOC approval will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor the implementation of HSE policy and management system.
• Perform Job Hazardous Analysis and participate in Job Safety Analysis.
• Verify adequacy and application of site HSE plan and procedures.
• Update HSE documentation during construction phases.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with HSE procedures and regulations; promote corrective actions.
• Organize, plan and participate in HSE walkthroughs, inspections and audits on site, and prepare reports.

Hours/rotation

Rotation of 60 days on site and 10 days off (paid) & 2 days traveling (paid).

• HSE Manager is appointed for major projects and in case of consortium or ATI.
• He reports to the Site Manager.

Duties and responsibilities

• To support and monitor the implementation of the Tecnimont HSE policy and HSE management system at site.
• To perform the Job Hazardous Analysis (JHA) and participate to the Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Verify the adequacy and application of the site HSE plan and all related procedures, to the preparing any revisions.
• To update the HSE documentation during all the construction phases when deemed necessary.
• To check that subcontractors perform their activities in accordance with all the HSE applicable procedures, regulation and standards, promoting all necessary action to ensure that the said procedures and regulations are observed.
• To organize, plan and participate to periodical HSE walk around, inspections and audits on site, prepare all the relevant reports, action plans, verify the follow up and the timely execution of the corrective action.
• To organize, coordinate the HSE training activities on site.
• To organize and participate to all relevant site HSE meetings.
• To cooperate with the client concerning the issuing of any necessary work permits.
• To organize in case of work accidents a full investigation of the event, finalized to the identification of corrective measures to avoid reoccurrence.
• To keep accident records, identifying the areas to which prevention must be addressed.
• To promote indoctrination / training of personnel.
• To lead and coordinate the activities of the site HSE committee (composed by all contractor and subcontractors HSE representative).
• To lead and coordinate the site emergency response team and fire prevention / fighting team, organizing training and emergency drill mock activities.
• To prepare the HSE section of the construction monthly progress report and other periodical report.
• To prepare and update the site HSE statistics, verify the performance versus the project and corporate HSE objective, targets and performance indicators.
• Propose recovery plan in case of mismatch.

Knowledge & Qualifications

• ABachelor’s Degree in any Engineering Course.

Experience
