Job summary

Careers International is seeking an Estimation Engineer to assess project costs and ensure financial viability for construction ventures in Abu Dhabi. You will review plans, quantify materials, labor and equipment, and prepare detailed cost estimates.

Collaborate with project teams, obtain supplier quotes, manage budgets, propose value engineering options, and prepare bids. Strong analytical and negotiation skills, knowledge of local codes, and experience in quantity takeoffs are essential.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is typically required.
• Previous experience in estimating or related roles in the construction industry is highly beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand scope, requirements, and constraints.
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• Quantify and takeoff required quantities of materials, labor, and equipment for construction.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to get competitive prices.
• Develop and manage project budgets, including forecasting and tracking costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Suggest alternative materials or construction methods that can provide cost savings without compromising quality.
• Prepare and submit bids for construction projects in response to tenders or RFPs.
• Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may affect project costs and develop contingency plans.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely cost information.
• Provide regular reports on estimated costs, actual costs, and any variances between the two.
