Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai is seeking a Commis to assist in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in the Y amp M Kitchen. You will follow recipes, maintain cleanliness, and support daily kitchen operations while upholding HACCP and UAE health standards.

The role requires at least a High School qualification; a hospitality or culinary degree is preferred, with about 1 year of relevant experience in a busy hotel or restaurant. Training and growth within the culinary team are offered.

Qualifications

• High School qualification or equivalent.
• A Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality or Culinary Arts is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of culinary experience as a Commis in a high-volume hotel or restaurant is preferred.
• Basic food handling and hygiene knowledge.
• Interest in bakery and willingness to learn.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with hotel standards.
• Follow recipes portion controls and presentation specifications as set by senior chefs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and kitchen equipment at all times.
• Support mise en place and daily kitchen operations ensuring timely delivery during service periods.
• Cooperate effectively with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth workflow and service excellence.
• Uphold and comply with all health food safety and hygiene standards in line with hotel policies HACCP requirements including those mandated by UAE Municipality

Based At the Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai within the Y amp M Kitchen section in Dubai the Commis is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes following recipes and guidelines set by senior chefs They ensure consistency cleanliness and proper handling of ingredients while supporting daily kitchen operations Maintaining high standards of hygiene food safety and teamwork is essential in this role The Commis reports to Chef de Partie

As a Commis you will be responsible for the following duties

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with hotel standards
