Job summary

Apt Resources in Dubai is seeking a Commis 1 to support daily kitchen operations under the Chef de Partie or Sous-Chef, ensuring guest expectations are met and food is prepared to standard. You will follow recipes, maintain hygiene, manage temperatures, and assist with presentation to help smooth service.

The role requires a culinary diploma or short course and 3–4 years of kitchen experience, including 18 months as Commis 2.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Culinary diploma or short culinary course.
• 3–4 years of experience with at least 18 months in Commis 2.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chef de Partie or Sous-C Chef in culinary operations.
• Maintain communication with the Chef de Partie and other staff.
• Produce products as instructed by senior staff.
• Ensure food hygiene, licensing and safety standards are followed.
• Monitor and report equipment defects and safety incidents.
• Work with standard recipes to maintain quality in production and presentation.
• Prepare meals with correct flavor, temperature and presentation.
• Date and store food; sanitize equipment and manage costs.
• Attend meetings and share rationale for actions taken.
