Jumeirah Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi seeks a Commis 2 to join the Culinary department. You will gather, prepare, and season ingredients, assist with basic dishes, and ensure proper stock in refrigeration units. The role emphasizes strict adherence to recipes and plating standards, with shift readiness and inventory awareness.

The ideal candidate will hold a culinary arts degree and have 1–2 years of experience across kitchen areas, preferably in luxury hospitality, with attractive benefits.

Qualifications

• College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited Culinary School.
• 1-2 year of experience in a range of kitchen areas; ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients, sauces, and seasoning.
• Wash, peel, and chop vegetables, fruits, and meat as applicable.
• Knowledge of cutting and seasoning different meats and marination.
• Prepare basic dishes such as salads and sauces.
• Ensure food items are stocked properly in refrigerators and freezers.
• Follow established recipe and plating guide to exact specification.
• Set-up the station with par stocks and assist the next shift.
• Maintain high levels of kitchen assistance and track inventory.
• Continually develop culinary knowledge to produce high-quality meals.
• Perform food rotation tasks to ensure ingredient freshness.
