Job summary

Swim England, based in the UK, seeks an experienced Coach and Coaching Developer to implement the Flourishing in Coaching plan. You will shape coaching across swimming disciplines, work with coaches and clubs, and help build sustainable learning environments.

You will lead strategic projects, design learning experiences, and collaborate across the aquatic community. The role requires travel across England, a degree-level background in sport coaching, and a strong commitment to inclusive coaching

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or equivalent knowledge and understanding of sport coaching.
• Significant personal experience of coaching within sport.
• Experience supporting the learning and development of coaches and groups.
• A contemporary understanding of coach learning and development.
• Proven ability to lead projects from planning through delivery.
• Experience using digital technology to create or develop e-learning resources.
• Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to engage, influence and challenge diverse stakeholders.
• Inclusive coaching practices and commitment to equality.
• Experience collecting and interpreting evidence to inform activities.
• Curious, reflective, and adaptable mindset.
• Resilience and willingness to travel across England.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Swim England’s Flourishing in Coaching strategic plan.
• Lead projects from concept to delivery and evaluation.
• Develop coaching workforce across clubs, regions and disciplines.
• Design meaningful learning experiences and enable sustainable learning environments.
• Deliver coach-development programmes across environments and disciplines.
• Provide professional learning support to coaches and groups.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive change.
• Collaborate with Swim England teams to align with strategic objectives.
• Create and enhance learning resources using digital technology.
• Monitor impact of learning initiatives and capture evidence.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of coaching pathways.
• Promote Swim England values and flourishing coaching culture.
