Job summary

Edge Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled CNC Milling machine operator to set up and run milling and turning jobs, translating engineering drawings into precise dimensions and supervising machines to ensure quality.

You will load and unload raw materials, record production and quality logs, perform tool changes, assess tool balance, and conduct in-process measurements to meet client requirements and keep equipment running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Trade School or high school diploma required or equivalent.
• Certificate or diploma in Engineering is an advantage.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S in the area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage CNC machines to perform drilling, grinding, milling & turning operations.
• Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
• Oversee machines during execution and adjust for improved results.
• Load and unload raw materials and equipment.
• Record production and quality logs with detailed records of equipment and procedures.
• Perform maintenance, coolant monitoring and cleaning of equipment daily.
• Inspect finished products to ensure results meet client expectations.
• Troubleshoot machines to minimize downtime.
• In-process measurement and visual inspection to ensure quality.
• Fill in controlled documents and SFC data entry including downtime daily.
• Monitor scrap levels and alert if above average.
• Set up cutting tools per tool list and ensure alignment with drawings.

Job description

• Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding and milling & turning.
• Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
• Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
• Load and unload raw materials and equipment.
• Record all machine related actions by completing production and quality logs, keeping detailed records for equipment and procedures.
• Perform necessary maintenance, Coolant Monitoring and cleaning of equipmentdaily.
• Inspect finished product to ensure that results of machining process align with clientexpectations.
• Perform general machine trouble shooting to minimize down time.
• Perform In- Process Measurement and Visual Inspection to ensure the quality of product meets customer requirements.
• Fill in all controlled required documents and SFC data entry including down time on daily basis.
• Monitor scrap levels against the parts produced under your responsibility and highlight if levels exceed average.
• Set up cutting tools as per Cutting tool list, using a heat shrink fit, dynamic tool balancer, to ensure tools are in line with the drawing requirement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Trade School Accreditation/High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Certificate or diploma in Engineering is an advantage.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S under the area of responsibility.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a CNC Milling machine operator (Milling and Turning).
• Proven experience translating mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
