Fromfolio is seeking a CMF Designer to lead color, material, and finish strategy for its automotive program, spanning exterior and interior surfaces. You will craft CMF palettes and build library assets while ensuring durability, feasibility, and production readiness for the GCC market.

You will work closely with exterior and interior design teams, suppliers, and show car projects to translate CMF intent into tangible materials and finishes, contributing to brand positioning and product

• Experience with GCC market conditions and heat/UV wear.

Core responsibilities

• Own the CMF direction for the assigned program, covering colour, material, and finish across exterior and interior.

• Develop CMF themes that support and strengthen the overall design intent, from early concept through to production.

• Build colour and material palettes for each product tier, keeping each tier distinct while coherent with the parent brand.

• Specify materials, finishes, textures, grains, stitching, and trim details for every interior and exterior surface.

• Work directly with the exterior and interior design teams to make sure CMF choices reinforce the form language and brand position.

• Work with suppliers to source materials, develop custom finishes, and resolve samples to production quality.

• Build and maintain the CMF library and master samples, keeping it current as the programs grow.

• Deliver CMF presentations, boards, and specification documents for internal review, management sign off, and supplier handover.

• Ensure every CMF choice meets durability, feasibility, cost, and regulatory requirements for the GCC market, including heat, UV, sand, and long term wear.

• Work with the visualization team to make sure digital renderings represent the CMF intent accurately.

• Work with workshop modelers and prototype builders to review CMF execution on physical models and show cars.

• Support cultural partnerships and special editions with bespoke CMF proposals when the brand calls for them.

• Share progress, directions, and sign off material with the Lead Designer on a regular basis.

Experience and skills

• Proven CMF experience in automotive, with a portfolio showing work across both interior and exterior.

• Production car experience is a strong plus.

• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes for automotive surfaces.

• Direct supplier management experience, including sample development and resolving quality issues.

• Experience working on show cars is a strong plus.

• Understanding of material behaviour in GCC climate conditions is a strong plus.
