Responsibilities
- Support individual pupils and small groups during classroom activities, learning tasks, school routines and wider school‑day activities.
- Help pupils participate fully in lessons by providing encouragement, practical guidance and appropriate classroom support.
- Assist with the social, emotional and physical well‑being of pupils throughout the school day.
- Support pupils with additional needs, including emotional, behavioural or social development requirements.
- Help implement individual education programmes for pupils or groups of pupils under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Monitor pupil progress during supported activities and share relevant observations with the class teacher.
- Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records, classroom notes, learning evidence and routine documentation.
- Prepare classroom resources, learning materials, photocopying, displays and other items needed for effective teaching.
- Create and maintain displays of pupils' work to celebrate achievement and support a positive classroom environment.
- Support teachers with classroom organization, lesson preparation, transitions and daily routines.
- Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence, positive behaviour and respectful interaction with others.
- Be proactive in matters relating to health, safety, safeguarding and pupil welfare.
- Help maintain an orderly, welcoming and safe classroom environment that supports learning.
- Support pupils during activities outside the classroom when required, including breaks, transitions, school events and supervised activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, school leaders and parents when appropriate.
- Follow the aims of the school and comply with school policies, health and safety requirements, safeguarding procedures and relevant UAE education expectations.
- Demonstrate respect for the culture and values of the region while contributing positively to the school community.
Ideal Profile
- UAE National candidate.
- Previous experience in a classroom support, school assistant, childcare or education environment is preferred.
- Genuine interest in supporting children and helping them grow academically, socially and emotionally.
- Patient, caring and positive approach when working with pupils of different abilities and needs.
- Ability to build respectful relationships with pupils, teachers, administrative staff, parents and the wider school community.
- Good communication skills with the ability to follow teacher guidance and share observations clearly.
- Flexible and proactive attitude with willingness to support different classroom and school activities.
- Strong awareness of health, safety, safeguarding and child well‑being responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling pupil information and school matters.
