Job summary

Fala Group in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to oversee testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt, concrete and water, ensuring procedures meet project specs and applicable standards.

You will review results, supervise technicians, coordinate sample collection from sites and plants, maintain records, calibrate equipment, and ensure safe, quality-focused operations in line with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, EN and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise laboratory testing of soil, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, water, and other construction materials.
• Ensure all tests are conducted in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and applicable standards.
• Review and verify test results for accuracy and completeness before submission.
• Supervise field testing activities, including compaction, density, moisture content, concrete, and asphalt testing.
• Coordinate sample collection from project sites, quarries, batching plants, and asphalt plants.
• Monitor site quality control activities and provide technical support to project teams.
• Lead and supervise Laboratory Technicians and Laboratory Assistants.
• Allocate daily testing activities and monitor work performance.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functioning properly.
• Monitor calibration schedules and maintain calibration records.
• Coordinate equipment servicing, repairs, and replacements as required.
• Maintain laboratory records, testing logs, calibration records, and quality documentation.
• Review and prepare laboratory reports for submission to the Material Engineer or QA/QC department.
• Ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, EN, and project-specific standards.
• Implement laboratory quality procedures and quality management requirements.
• Enforce laboratory safety rules and company HSE policies.
• Coordinate with Material Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, Site Engineers, consultants, and client representatives.
• Execute work that adheres to quality, health, safety, and environmental considerations, as well as commitment and excellence.
