Role Context
This position supports the reliability and condition of civil facilities serving plant operations, including administrative buildings, residential accommodation, and associated infrastructure. The Civil Maintenance Supervisor coordinates scheduled and corrective maintenance, reviews drawings, conducts facility inspections, monitors contractor performance, and ensures repair and modification activities are completed safely and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review civil maintenance work orders and determine appropriate execution priorities.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules covering civil works within plant premises.
- Supervise routine and corrective civil maintenance activities.
- Ensure administrative and residential facilities are maintained in safe and serviceable condition.
- Monitor maintenance execution against approved schedules and requirements.
- Review drawings relating to existing facilities and proposed installations.
- Verify that proposed civil works and modifications meet operational and maintenance requirements.
- Conduct periodic inspections of accommodation units and associated facilities.
- Identify deterioration, defects, and maintenance requirements during facility inspections.
- Ensure premises are maintained in accordance with applicable HSE standards.
- Participate in evaluation of facility system repairs, replacements, and modifications.
- Support preparation of corrective action plans for identified facility defects.
- Follow up corrective actions to ensure maintenance issues are resolved within agreed timelines.
- Review proposed repair methods and confirm compliance with required technical standards.
- Supervise implementation of the Trouble Report system for civil maintenance activities.
- Ensure maintenance requests are properly recorded, tracked, and followed through to completion.
- Coordinate day-to-day general maintenance and repair activities.
- Monitor outstanding maintenance items and escalation delays or recurring problems where necessary.
- Maintain inventory records for relevant civil maintenance materials and supplies.
- Monitor stock availability and initiate timely replenishment of required items.
- Prepare material lists for planned and corrective maintenance activities.
- Develop price specifications for supplies, consumables, and maintenance materials.
- Coordinate timely delivery of materials required for maintenance execution.
- Inspect delivered materials to confirm compliance with required specifications and quality.
- Support procurement activities associated with maintenance supplies and contractor services.
- Participate in commercial negotiations involving maintenance requirements.
- Evaluate cost, quality, reliability, and technical suitability when assessing maintenance options.
- Support selection of cost-effective solutions without compromising safety or quality.
- Plan activities for contractor maintenance personnel.
- Supervise contractor teams carrying out civil maintenance and repair works.
- Verify that contractor work meets approved quality, technical, and HSE standards.
- Monitor contractor progress and address performance concerns affecting maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate contractor access and work requirements within operating facilities.
- Maintain effective communication with facility users and relevant operational teams.
- Provide engineering support where civil maintenance issues require technical assessment.
- Identify recurring facility problems and recommend practical corrective measures.
- Support improvements to preventive maintenance programs based on inspection findings and maintenance history.

Ideal Profile
The successful candidate should hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience supervising civil maintenance activities within a large industrial organization is required, preferably within the oil and gas industry. Candidates should have practical experience in building maintenance, preventive maintenance planning, facility inspections, civil repairs, contractor supervision, materials management, and corrective maintenance. The role requires the ability to review drawings, identify facility defects, coordinate repair activities, and verify that completed works meet required standards. Experience working with administrative buildings, residential accommodation, or similar industrial support facilities would be particularly relevant. The successful candidate should demonstrate good supervisory, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills together with a strong understanding of HSE requirements in an industrial environment.
