Job summary

Stantec in Dubai is seeking a Civil Inspector to work on stormwater, drainage, wastewater and water distribution projects. You will supervise construction, verify design intent, and coordinate with clients and subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship.

Responsibilities include site inspections, reporting, basic design calculations with engineers, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality procedures. UAE experience is preferred and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a Diploma/Degree in Civil.
• 7+ years of experience in the construction and supervision of sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, and miscellaneous works.
• Experience in UAE is preferred for local context.
• Strong team working capabilities with management levels.

• Work with engineers to solve project design problems and perform basic design calculations.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.

Job description

The role involves working on projects associated with stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks and water distribution networks. This will involve undertaking investigations, pipelines valves Rising main construction supervision & monitoring of design and infrastructure work.

Technical Delivery:

• Interacting with clients and contractor’s staff to determine and verify project requirements.
• Preparing inspection reports and site records.
• Performing civil and structural tests.
• Providing general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
• Identifying non-conforming works, generating reports and corrective actions and coordinating responses.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Collaboration and working as part of a team.

• Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required.
• Conduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations
• Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate completion of tasks, and project.
• Good communicator.

Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

Other duties as requested from time to time by the Assistant Resident Engineer.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Diploma/Degree in Civil
• The Inspector must have relevant technical qualifications and over seven (7) years of experience in the construction and supervision of sewerage, stormwater, Irrigation, and miscellaneous works.
• Strong team working capabilities. Committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis.
• A proactive approach, working effectively in co-ordinating activities and complex tasks, taking professional responsibility in all matters.
• Preferably with experience in UAE
