Job summary

AECOM Middle East Ltd is seeking a Civil Inspector – Marine Infrastructure in Dubai, UAE. The role focuses on field inspection of quay walls, jetties and coastal works, with QA/QC oversight and reporting requirements.

The incumbent will coordinate with Resident Engineers, Marine Engineers and Client representatives, ensuring compliance with environmental, HSE and project specifications. Day‑1 onboarding applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• 7–10 years of civil construction inspection experience required.
• 3–5 years on marine infrastructure projects preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect quay walls, jetties, breakwaters, revetments, seawalls, marine foundations, pontoons, and coastal protection structures.
• Monitor piling, dredging, reclamation, rock placement, concrete works, and marine structural installations.
• Verify construction activities against approved method statements, IFC drawings, project specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and witness testing of concrete, aggregates, steel reinforcement, construction materials, and marine structures.
• Monitor compliance with established quality assurance and quality control procedures.
• Review Contractor inspection requests and maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
• Identify non-conforming works and follow up on timely implementation of corrective actions.
• Monitor marine survey activities, including bathymetric surveys, dredging levels, and as-built measurements.
• Coordinate inspection activities with Resident Engineers, Marine Engineers, Contractors, and Client representatives.
• Verify implementation of environmental protection measures and compliance with applicable marine environmental requirements.
• Monitor adherence to project HSE requirements and safe marine working practices.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor 's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in civil construction inspection.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience on marine infrastructure projects.
• Experience with ports, harbors, jetties, quay walls, dredging, reclamation, or coastal protection projects.
• Knowledge of marine construction methods and inspection procedures.
• Professional certification in marine or coastal engineering is an advantage.
• Familiarity with international standards, marine construction specifications, and UAE authority requirements is preferred.

The role supports AECOM 's Transportation business line within the Quality career area.
