Job summary

PeopleStrong seeks a Civil Engineer to lead civil, structural, and geotechnical work for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects in Abu Dhabi. You will guide site assessments, conceptual layouts, and detailed designs, and oversee construction to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include monitoring piles, reinforcement, concrete pours, field inspections, and QA/QC as part of a compliant project delivery process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Civil Engineering required.
• 8–12 years of site execution experience with at least 2 years on utility‑scale Solar PV or BESS projects.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to lead and oversee the civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering aspects of our Utility-Scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. In this role, you will be responsible for everything from initial site assessments and conceptual layouts to detailed structural designs and construction oversight. You will ensure all civil works are safe, cost-effective, and fully compliant with local regulations and client standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the layout, installation, and load-testing (pull-out tests) of driven or screw piles for solar racking and tracking systems.
• Direct the reinforcement, formwork, and concrete pouring for heavy equipment foundations, including BESS containers, inverters, and transformers.
• Conduct field inspections and witness tests (soil compaction, concrete slump/cube tests, pile alignment) against the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan.
• Enforce company and regulatory health, safety, and environmental protocols across all civil execution activities.

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• 8-12 years of site execution experience, with at least 2 years of direct field execution on utility-scale Solar PV and/or BESS projects
