Job summary

WESTERN BEACH GEN CONTRACTING CO - SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP L.L.C is seeking a Civil Engineering professional to prepare and review drawings, designs, specifications, and calculations, and to supervise construction on site. You will coordinate with consultants, contractors, architects, and MEP teams while ensuring compliance with codes and project specs.

Responsibilities include site inspections, materials QA/QC coordination, RFIs/shots, quantity takeoffs, and successful handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and practices
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• Familiarity with MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Strong analytical and technical skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review civil engineering drawings, designs, specifications, and calculations.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure work is completed according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, architects, MEP teams, and project management.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor construction progress.
• Ensure work complies with approved designs, project specifications, codes, and authority requirements.
• Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship and coordinate with the QA/QC team.
• Review and resolve technical issues, RFIs, shop drawings, and material submittals.
• Monitor project progress against the approved programme and milestones.
• Assist with quantity measurements, BOQs, material requirements, and cost control.
• Coordinate surveying, setting-out, levels, and site measurements.
• Identify construction problems and provide appropriate engineering solutions.
• Ensure proper implementation of health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
• Prepare and maintain site reports, inspection records, progress reports, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and relevant authorities.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed as per contractual requirements.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, snagging, and handover activities.
• Review as-built drawings and ensure project documentation is completed before handover.
