Overview
We’re seeking a warm, energetic, and highly capable Play-Based Learning Coach to guide our 4 and 6 year-old children through daily academic learning and curiosity-led play. This role blends structured teaching with creative, child-led exploration, nurturing both emotional intelligence and intellectual growth. The right person will love mess, movement, and meaningful learning, and will design engaging days that support our children’s natural curiosity—without screens or rigid curriculums.
You'll work in a home environment that values independence, empathy, and hands-on discovery. Background in early childhood education, psychology, or behavioral therapy is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate daily learning experiences based on the children’s interests and natural curiosity
- Blend academic structure with exploratory, imaginative play across literacy, numeracy, science, arts, and nature
- Foster emotional intelligence, creativity, critical thinking, and independence through real-world projects and sensory-rich activities
- Implement child-led, curiosity-driven learning models that evolve as the children grow
- Organize field trips, outdoor play, and experiential learning opportunities
- Create and maintain portfolios documenting learning progress using photos, notes, and reflections
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and emotionally responsive learning environment
- Guide children through emotional moments with patience and attunement
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Academic background in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
- Proven experience working with children ages 3–6 in both academic and play settings
- Knowledge or experience in unschooling, homeschooling, or alternative education models
- Familiar with attachment-based parenting or behavioral therapy principles
- Emotionally attuned, patient, and confident in supporting children through emotional regulation
- Enjoys messy play, outdoor games, storytelling, and hands-on activities
- Bonus: Experience working with neurodivergent children or those with sensory differences
Qualifications
- Fluent in English (Arabic and/or Spanish is a plus)
- Strong observational and communication skills
- Based in Dubai
