Job summary

Al Jaddaf Rotana Complex in Dubai invites dynamic Food & Beverage professionals to join our Stewarding team. As Chief Steward you will assist the Stewarding Manager to uphold the highest cleanliness and hygiene standards across all facilities and equipment.

You will supervise stewarding staff, manage costs, coordinate with outlet managers, maintain health records, and ensure efficient operations with a hands-on, team-oriented leadership style in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
• Degree in hospitality with stewarding department experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional assistance and direction for the stewarding operation.
• Supervise stewarding department employees, facilities, operation and costs.
• Ensure sanitation, cleanliness and quality of products and services.
• Coordinate with managers to manage stock levels and requisitions.
• Maintain health inspection and attendance records; oversee casual staff.

Job Description

We are currently looking for dynamic, and self motivated Food & Beverage professionals who assist to organize and direct a team that develops top quality of food & beverage products, with prompt, accurate and personalized service.

This position is based at Al Jaddaf Rotana Suite Hotel.

As a Chief Steward you are responsible to assist the Stewarding Manager to enforce the highest possible cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food processing facilities, as well as the operating equipment and your role will include key responsibilities such as:

• Provide functional assistance and direction and be responsible for the smooth running of the whole stewarding operation
• Supervise the duties of all stewarding department employees, facilities, operation and costs
• Supervise the sanitation, cleanliness, hygiene as well as the quality level of product and services
• Check more specifically the proper use of chemicals and washing accessories
• Coordinate with the Stewarding Manager in establishing minimum and maximum operating par stocks and supplies and approve storeroom requisition
• Co-ordinate with the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager or Outlet Manager to check their requirements for the day and the next day
• Maintain health inspection record, attendance record and file on casual employees
• Take all necessary actions to reduce the loss of silverware / flatware

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

You should ideally have a degree in hospitality with previous experiences in the Stewarding Department within a hotel. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities are essentials.
