Job summary
Mintlayer is seeking a General Counsel to shape the company’s regulatory strategy as it scales in the digital assets space. You will advise the board on material legal matters, lead fundraising strategy, and oversee IP protection with external counsel, while navigating ADGM, MiCA, and US regulatory frameworks.
You will also guide fund structuring, LP rights, and DIFC compliance, acting as the primary escalation point for legal risk and building relationships with top external firms specialized
Qualifications
- Demonstrated blockchain/Bitcoin legal specialism.
- Experience with fund structuring for private equity or digital asset funds.
- Ability to advise on regulatory treatment across multiple regimes (ADGM, MiCA, US).
Responsibilities
- Advise the board and executive team on material legal matters.
- Lead legal strategy for pre-Series A raise, term sheet review and investor rights.
- Own IP protection strategy with external counsel.
- Provide opinions on regulatory treatment of ML tokens across frameworks.
- Advise on fund structures, LP rights, side letters and DIFC compliance.
- Escalate significant legal risks identified by Head of Legal.
- Build relationships with top-tier external law firms in blockchain and funds law.
