Job summary

Jazirah Aviation in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE is seeking an experienced Chief Flying Instructor to lead our flight training operations. The CFI will ensure delivery of flight and ground training in line with the approved syllabus, GCAA regulations, and the highest aviation safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1,500 total flight hours.
  • Valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).
  • Valid Flight Instructor (CFI) endorsement/rating.
  • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Appropriate aircraft ratings for the training operation.
  • Relevant experience as a Flight Instructor / Instructor Pilot.
  • Strong knowledge of GCAA regulations, flight training standards, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee flight training per syllabus.
  • Conduct flight instruction, briefings, debriefings, and ground training.
  • Monitor student progress and approve advancement or remedial training.
  • Supervise instructors and maintain training standards.
  • Ensure training records, logbooks, and reports are complete.
  • Ensure safe aircraft operations and compliance with procedures.
  • Promote safety culture and SMS compliance.

Job description

Jazirah Aviation is seeking an experienced, highly qualified, and safety-focused Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) to lead and oversee our flight training operations.

The Chief Flying Instructor will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of flight and ground training in accordance with the approved training syllabus, applicable GCAA regulations, company procedures, and the highest standards of aviation safety and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Flight Training & Instruction
  • Lead and oversee flight training activities in accordance with the approved training syllabus
  • Conduct flight instruction, briefings, debriefings, and ground training as required
  • Ensure students receive effective training in normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and approve advancement or remedial training where appropriate
  • Supervise and support Flight Instructors and ensure training standards are consistently maintained
  • Ensure accurate completion of student training records, logbooks, and reports
Flight Operations
  • Operate company aircraft safely for training, operational, and positioning flights as required
  • Ensure aircraft operations remain within approved limitations and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with operational manuals, checklists, and flight procedures
  • Conduct appropriate pre-flight inspections and ensure aircraft serviceability
  • Report technical defects, incidents, and safety concerns in accordance with company procedures
Leadership & Training Standards
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the flight instructor team
  • Monitor instructor performance and maintain consistent training standards
  • Identify training deficiencies and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Support the continuous improvement of the organization's flight training programs and procedures
  • Coordinate with management and relevant departments regarding training and operational matters
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with the organization's Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the flight training operation
  • Ensure hazards, incidents, and occurrences are identified and reported appropriately
  • Take immediate action to prevent unsafe training or operational activities
  • Ensure flight training activities comply with applicable GCAA regulations and approved procedures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 1,500 total flight hours
  • Valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
  • Valid Flight Instructor (CFI) endorsement/rating
  • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • Appropriate aircraft ratings and qualifications for the training operation
  • Relevant experience as a Flight Instructor / Instructor Pilot
  • Navigation experience as required by the applicable FI course syllabus
  • Demonstrated leadership and flight training management experience
  • Strong knowledge of GCAA regulations, flight training standards, and safety requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to aviation safety, professionalism, and pilot development
