Confidential Careers is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to join a leading road contracting and infrastructure group in the UAE. The role reports to the CFO and leads a finance team of about 40 professionals across multiple group companies.

The incumbent will manage end-to-end accounting functions, project accounting, and related controls, ensuring timely financial statements, strong internal controls, and compliance with IFRS and local regulations.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA) is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience with at least 5 years in a senior role within contracting/infrastructure/project environments.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, retention accounting, and contract accounting.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee accounting across multiple entities within the Group.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing; prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Manage GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Treasury, and cash flow management.
• Ensure IFRS, UAE VAT compliance and statutory reporting.

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to join our finance team at a leading road contracting and infrastructure group in the UAE.

The successful candidate will report directly to the CFO and lead a finance team of approximately 40 professionals across multiple companies within the Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the complete accounting function across multiple entities within the Group.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Treasury, and Cash Flow Management.
• Ensure accurate accounting of contracting and infrastructure projects, including:
• Job Costing
• Work-in-Progress (WIP) Reporting
• Contract Revenue Recognition
• Retention Accounting
• Cost Control and Project Profitability Analysis
• Coordinate with project teams, procurement, estimation, and operations departments to ensure proper financial control of projects.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes and reporting systems.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA) is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior accounting position within a contracting, construction, infrastructure, or project-based organization.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, retention accounting, and contract accounting.
• Experience managing accounting operations for multiple companies and large-scale projects.
• Advanced ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics/Navision, or equivalent).
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Industry Experience

Road Contracting, Infrastructure, Civil Construction, Utilities, Manufacturing, Industrial Projects, or EPC Contracting.
