Confidential, based in Dubai, seeks an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function for a growing construction company. The role requires overseeing financial operations, ensuring UAE-compliant reporting, and managing VAT and Corporate Tax returns.

You will coordinate with auditors, banks, and authorities while guiding the accounting team to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. The ideal candidate has proven UAE accounting experience, English fluency, and strong Excel/ERP skills,

Qualifications

• Proven UAE accounting experience is required.
• Fluency in English is mandatory both written and spoken.
• Strong knowledge of UAE regulations, VAT and Corporate Tax.
• Experience in construction industry is highly preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and accounting software proficiency.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to join a well-established and growing construction company in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all accounting and financial operations of the company.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with UAE regulations and accounting standards.
• Prepare and submit VAT and Corporate Tax returns.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow.
• Oversee payments and financial transactions with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Manage bank transactions and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and relevant authorities.
• Supervise and support the accounting team.

Requirements:

• Proven accounting experience in the UAE is mandatory, preferably in a Chief Accountant or similar senior accounting role.
• Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken.
• Strong knowledge of UAE accounting regulations, VAT, and Corporate Tax.
• Previous experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
• Experience with Xpedeon ERP software is a significant advantage.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
