Job summary

Tanqeeb in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Chemical Production Manager to lead manufacturing, formulation, and QA for water treatment chemicals, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while meeting customer requirements.

You will collaborate with R&D, QA, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams, scale up new products, manage batch processing, and optimize cost, quality, and throughput across potable, wastewater, cooling, and desalination applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Water Treatment Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in chemical production operations.
• Demonstrated experience in the formulation and manufacturing of water treatment chemicals.
• Experience in industrial water treatment, wastewater treatment, desalination, cooling water, or boiler treatment applications is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of chemical blending, dosing technologies, and water treatment processes.

Job Summary:

The Chemical Production Manager is responsible for leading the manufacturing, formulation, recipe management, and application support of water treatment chemicals, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards and customer requirements. The role oversees the production of chemicals used in potable water treatment, wastewater treatment, cooling water systems, boiler water treatment, desalination plants, and industrial process applications. The position works closely with Technical, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure product performance, formulation integrity, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations for water treatment chemical products.
  • Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining product quality, cost efficiency, and operational reliability.
  • Manage batch processing, blending, dosing, mixing, and packaging operations.
  • Optimize production capacity, resource utilization, and workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor key production metrics and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure cost-effective inventory sourcing and management of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
  • Own and control formulation specifications, manufacturing recipes, batch sheets, and process instructions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with approved formulations for all water treatment chemical products.
  • Manage the manufacture of products such as:
    • Coagulants and flocculants
    • pH adjustment chemicals
    • Scale inhibitors
    • Corrosion inhibitors
    • Biocides and disinfectants
    • Antiscalants
    • Reverse osmosis treatment chemicals
    • Cooling tower treatment chemicals
    • Boiler water treatment chemicals
    • Wastewater treatment chemicals
  • Collaborate with R&D and Technical teams to develop and improve formulations based on performance requirements and customer needs.
  • Lead laboratory-to-production scale-up activities for new products.
  • Evaluate alternative raw materials and formulation enhancements to improve product performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Investigate formulation-related production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical leadership on the application and performance of water treatment chemical products.
  • Ensure products are formulated and manufactured to achieve desired treatment outcomes, including:
    • Scale prevention
    • Corrosion control
    • Microbiological control
    • Clarification and flocculation
    • Membrane protection
    • Boiler system protection
    • Cooling water system optimization
    • Wastewater treatment efficiency
  • Support field trials, customer application testing, and product validation programs.
  • Work closely with Technical Service and Sales teams to evaluate product performance and recommend application improvements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting customer and operational challenges related to chemical dosing, treatment effectiveness, and system performance.
  • Review application data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product optimization.
  • Ensure all products comply with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor critical quality parameters and process controls throughout production.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance teams to investigate non-conformances, process deviations, and customer complaints.
  • Maintain accurate production, formulation, and traceability documentation.
  • Support customer, supplier, and regulatory audits.
  • Drive initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency, product consistency, process capability, and operational performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations and corrective action programs.
  • Identify opportunities for waste reduction, yield improvement, automation, and cost optimization.
  • Support innovation projects involving new treatment technologies, formulations, and product applications.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, Laboratory Personnel, and Production Operators.
  • Develop technical capabilities in water treatment chemistry, formulation management, and process optimization.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development plans.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and coordinate technical and operational training requirements.
