Job summary

Wynn Al Marjan Island is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join the Theater Operations team, contributing to the construction, installation and maintenance of scenic elements for the resort's productions.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of theatre carpentry experience, read technical drawings, and work safely with hand and power tools while collaborating across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical theatre training or certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in theatrical carpentry or scenic construction.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction plans.
• Knowledge of theatrical construction methods and stagecraft.
• Experience with hand and power tools used in scenic construction.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights as required.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to UAE health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the construction and assembly of scenic elements based on technical drawings and specifications.
• Support the Master Carpenter in the installation and rigging of scenery on stage and backstage areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on scenic elements during the production run.
• Collaborate with other departments including lighting, audio, and props to ensure seamless integration of scenic components.
• Participate in load-ins, load-outs, and strikes as directed by the Master Carpenter.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the scene shop and backstage.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures during construction and installation activities.
• Assist with show operations as and when required / directed
• Operate power tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Assist in inventory management of scenic materials and tools.
• Attend production meetings and technical rehearsals and any other duties as required.

Job description

Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. Set to open in 2027, the resort will be located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will offer 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theater, and a beach club. It will feature multiple swimming and wading pools, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.

About the Position:
