Job summary

Bombardier Aerospace Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Buyer to join our Abu Dhabi service center. You will plan and procure parts, manage supplier relations, and support inventory control to ensure on-time aircraft maintenance.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in aviation or material/parts environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely acquisition of parts and materials by planning and forecasting requirements.
• Locate and initiate purchase of materials, tools and components from suppliers.
• Expedite status of orders and purchase orders with suppliers and internal teams.
• Identify critical paths and assign priorities.
• Attend meetings representing the department.
• Interface with Supervisors and Managers on material issues.
• Maintain shortage reports and communicate status to management.
• Create internal orders and documents to meet parts and materials needs.
• Adjust discrepant orders and cancel items not received or returned to stock.
• Create new part numbers for site-specific parts and send requests.
• Maintain accurate inventory transactions in systems.
• Order/reorder materials and tools to align with aircraft delivery schedules.
• Identify alternate and superseded part numbers.

Summary

Join us at Bombardier’s new Abu Dhabi Service Center, a state-of-the-art flagship facility at Al Bateen Executive Airport, set to go live in Q1 2027. This center will offer advanced MRO capabilities and support the entire Bombardier aircraft portfolio. This position is based in Abu Dhabi. The selected candidate must relocate and establish residence in Abu Dhabi.

This position is open to candidates currently based in the UAE; relocation support is not available.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Ensure the timely acquisition of parts and materials needed to service customer aircraft by planning and forecasting part and material requirements and coordinating acquisition with internal and external suppliers and materials personnel
• You will locate and initiate the purchase of materials, tools and components via communication with internal and external sources and suppliers
• You will expedite status of external and internal parts orders and purchase orders via communication with suppliers and inter-company operations
• You will identify and schedule critical paths and assign priorities
• You will attend meetings representing the department
• You will interface with Supervisors and Managers or other departments on critical material problems
• You will maintain shortage reports to track orders and communicate status to management
• You will create and issue internal orders and other applicable documents to meet parts and materials requirements
• You will provide information to adjust discrepant orders/exception messages and cancel line items not received or returned to stock as needed
• You will create new part numbers for site-specific parts used and send part number requests to internal suppliers
• You will maintain accurate inventory of transactions using computerized inventory and manual filing systems
• You will order and/or reorder materials, tools, and ground support equipment with regard to aircraft delivery schedules as required
• You will identify alternate and superseded part numbers

How to thrive in this role?

• You would typically have 5 years of experience in aviation or material/parts environment or other demonstrated equivalent experience
• You have training & equivalent experience with SAP system
• You have planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize and coordinate workload within a multiple project setting
• You have interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective working relationships with sales team, owners, outside counsel, and other departments
• You are proficient with Microsoft Office
• You would typically have 5-year experience in inventory planning and procurement (preferred)
• You would typically have 5 or more years’ experience in inventory forecasting and analysis (preferred)
• You have a bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business, Inventory Management or related area (preferred)
