About the job

The role of a Business Risk and Data Analyst involves multiple responsibilities crucial for data-driven decision-making within the organization and plays a vital role in safeguarding organization against the risk associated with sanctions violations.

This role reports to the Director of Governance, Risk, and Process Control.

What will you do?

Sanctions risk management

• A key responsibility is to ensure that the organization adheres to all applicable sanctions regimes and follows established process controls.
• Stay updated on sanction changes.
• Perform sanctions risk screenings according to operational and data management requirements and provide guidance to operations as needed.
• Review all data points, including vessels, customers, suppliers, and business opportunities to identify any potential violations, and elevate all risk flags to the Global sanctions control team for further investigation.
• Continuously monitor all data points (mainly suppliers, customers, vessels, and contracts) and recorded in master data (in different applications) to promptly detect any violations and elevate to process managers / owners if needed.
• Oversee subscription and access control for sanctions risk screening platforms.

Data management and analytics

• As required evaluate, and process data management requests submitted by WPS employees regarding vessels, customers, contracts, and suppliers.
• Investigate discrepancies in data registration requests for master data according to established processes and operating system requirements, and report to relevant process managers or owners if necessary.
• Regularly review all supplier, customer, and vessel data in the master data systems to ensure that the data aligns with sanctions control, operational, procurement, and ESG requirements.
• Generate data reports for process, operational, or business needs using appropriate tools, algorithms, and visualisations like dashboards or PPT.
• Provide data analysis and insights to support process enhancements and system developments.
• Manage data points (Vessel, Customer, Supplier, and contracts) in the operating systems, as per the system requirements.
