About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Business Analyst to support digital transformation and business process optimization initiatives within the shipping and maritime industry. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in business analysis, maritime operations, and enterprise system implementation, with the ability to bridge business and technology teams to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions.

This role requires a professional with deep knowledge of shipping operations, port management, vessel lifecycle processes, and maritime compliance who can effectively gather business requirements, analyze operational workflows, and contribute to enterprise transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and document end-to-end shipping and maritime business processes, identifying opportunities for process optimization and operational efficiency
• Study workflows across vessel operations, cargo handling, fleet management, port operations, marine logistics, chartering, and freight management
• Collaborate with business stakeholders including operations, shipping agents, fleet management, finance, and IT teams to gather business requirements
• Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), user stories, process maps, and functional documentation
• Work with maritime enterprise systems including Vessel Management Systems (VMS), Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), Port Community Systems (PCS), ERP platforms, Crew Management Systems, Cargo Tracking Platforms, and Maritime Compliance Solutions
• Analyze operational and business performance data using KPIs such as vessel turnaround time (TAT), port stay duration, freight costs, fuel consumption, fleet utilization, and on-time delivery performance
• Support digital transformation initiatives by coordinating between business users, vendors, and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), change management, training, deployment, and solution validation activities
• Ensure business processes comply with maritime regulations, customs requirements, environmental standards, and International Maritime Organization (IMO) guidelines
• Collaborate with technical teams to support API integrations, ERP implementations, reporting solutions, and system enhancements

Required Skills

• 9+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with strong exposure to the maritime, shipping, or logistics industry
• Expertise in business process analysis, requirement gathering, stakeholder management, process mapping, gap analysis, and user story creation
• Strong knowledge of shipping operations, vessel scheduling, port and terminal operations, marine logistics, and international trade processes
• Experience working with maritime documentation including Bills of Lading (BL), manifests, shipping instructions, customs declarations, and freight documentation
• Strong understanding of commercial shipping concepts including freight rates, charter parties, demurrage, detention, laytime, and voyage costing
• Hands‑on experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
• Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, reporting, and business data analysis
• Understanding of API integrations, enterprise system integration concepts, and digital transformation initiatives
• Excellent analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering enterprise transformation projects within shipping, logistics, or port operations environments
• Strong understanding of UAE customs regulations, maritime authorities, and environmental compliance standards
• Experience working with Vessel Management Systems (VMS), Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), and Port Community Systems (PCS)
• Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile Business Analysis will be an added advantage
• Candidates available to join immediately or on short notice will be preferred
