Job summary

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of relevant experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial modelling capabilities.
• Ability to connect performance with unit cost, cash flow and business value.
• Excel proficiency; Power BI or similar BI tools preferred.
• Practical AI literacy and willingness to adopt emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational, technical and financial performance across the mine-to-market value chain.
• Identify key drivers of production, productivity, recovery, cost and cash generation.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, sensitivities and business cases to support decision-making.
• Support turnaround, cost-improvement and operational improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate contractors, operating models, capital initiatives and make-versus-buy decisions.
• Identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, duplication and opportunities for optimisation.
• Establish performance baselines, quantify expected benefits and track improvement outcomes.
• Work with Marampa and Soremi teams to implement practical improvements.
• Support the development of MMH MIS, KPIs, dashboards and reporting standards.
• Integrate operational, maintenance, cost and financial information into daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
• Drive exception-based reporting and highlight material deviations, constraints and required actions.
• Use data, automation, AI and modern analytical tools to improve analysis and decision-making.
• Validate AI-generated insights against operational reality while maintaining data confidentiality and governance.

The Mining Business Analyst will support leadership across the company by analysing mining operations, financial performance, processes, management information and business improvement opportunities. The role will translate operational data into clear insights on productivity, unit cost, cash generation and business value, while supporting the implementation of measurable improvements.

Main Responsibilities and Activities:

• Analyse operational, technical and financial performance across the mine-to-market value chain.

Requirements

• Relevant degree in Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy, Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or another quantitative discipline.
• Typically 5-10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Practical experience in mining or heavy-industrial operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial modelling capabilities.
• Ability to connect operational performance with unit cost, cash flow and business value.
• Strong understanding of process optimisation and value creation.
• Strong Management Information Systems and systems-thinking capability.
• Strong Excel skills; Power BI or similar BI tools highly desirable.
• Practical AI literacy and willingness to learn and adopt emerging technologies.
• Ability to convert complex information into clear, concise executive-level recommendations.
• Hands-on and implementation-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively with both site teams and senior management.
• Willingness to spend approximately 30-50% of time at Dubai and Sierra Leone, including extended periods with operational teams when required.
