Job summary

NAFFCO FZCO in Dubai is seeking a quantity surveyor to develop and manage the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for engineering projects. This role involves overseeing engineering systems, conducting cost audits, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure accuracy in project documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, along with 3-4 years of experience in quantity surveying and professional certification such as RICS or PQS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications and cost estimates.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of engineering systems including project management software and document control platforms to streamline workflows.
• Conduct regular audits of project costs against the BOQ, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions to maintain budgetary control.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure all technical documentation, drawings, and specifications are accurately reflected in the BOQ and system records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of progressive experience in quantity surveying, cost engineering, or project controls within the engineering or construction industry.
• Professional certification such as RICS, PQS, or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in specialized BOQ software (e.g., CostX, NBS) and robust understanding of project management information systems (PMIS).
