KOREAN TECHNO INSPECTION MIDDLE EAST Co. LLC is seeking a skilled Bolt Torquing & Tensioning Technician to safely perform hydraulic bolting on Oil & Gas projects.
You will operate hydraulic torque wrenches, tensioners and pumps, following approved procedures and site safety rules. The candidate should have a 3-year Mechanical Engineering diploma or ITI, at least 3 years in Oil & Gas, and strong knowledge of bolting sequences, equipment inspection and documentation.
The Bolt Torquing & Tensioning Technician will be responsible for safely and efficiently carrying out hydraulic bolt torquing and bolt tensioning activities on Oil & Gas projects. The technician must be capable of independently operating hydraulic bolting equipment and executing bolting activities in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, torque/tension requirements, and site HSE standards.
Perform hydraulic bolt torquing and hydraulic bolt tensioning activities as per approved procedures.
Independently execute bolting activities according to project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
Operate hydraulic torque wrenches, hydraulic tensioners, pumps, hoses, and associated equipment.
Ensure correct bolt tightening/tensioning sequences and achieve specified torque or tension values.
Verify bolt sizes, grades, equipment selection, and required torque/tension settings before commencing work.
Conduct pre-use inspection and functional checks of hydraulic bolting equipment.
Identify and report damaged, defective, or unsafe equipment.
Maintain proper care, cleanliness, and basic maintenance of bolting tools and equipment.
Follow approved method statements, risk assessments, procedures, and work instructions.
Strictly comply with HSE, Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, and site safety requirements.
Coordinate with Mechanical, QA/QC, Inspection, Engineering, and Site teams to ensure smooth execution of bolting activities.
Maintain accurate records of completed bolting activities, torque/tension values, equipment usage, and inspection requirements.
Report any abnormal conditions, equipment issues, or deviations to the supervisor.
Participate in shutdown/turnaround activities and work extended hours or shifts when required.
Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times.
3-Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR ITI in any Mechanical Trade.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
Proven practical experience in:
Hydraulic Bolt Torquing
Hydraulic Bolt Tensioning
Hydraulic Torque Wrenches
Hydraulic Bolt Tensioners
Hydraulic Pumps and associated equipment
Ability to independently perform hydraulic bolting activities.
Good understanding of torqueing and tensioning sequences and requirements.
Previous experience working on Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, or industrial projects is preferred.
Original educational certificates must be produced during the interview.
Age: Up to 40 years.
Good command of spoken and written English.
Physically fit and capable of performing site-based mechanical work.
Strong safety awareness and ability to follow HSE procedures.
Positive, professional, and responsible attitude.
Ability to work effectively with multinational teams.
Willingness to work shifts, extended hours, weekends, and shutdown/turnaround schedules as required.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
Experience handling different makes/models of hydraulic torqueing and tensioning equipment.
Previous Oil & Gas Shutdown / Turnaround experience.
Knowledge of approved bolting procedures and industry practices.
Experience with critical bolting applications.
Familiarity with torque/tension charts, bolt specifications, and tightening sequences.
Experience working in refineries, petrochemical plants, process plants, or major Oil & Gas facilities.
