Job summary

A leading engineering firm based in the UAE is looking for a Construction Mechanical Supervisor. This role involves directing subcontractor activities, supervising equipment alignment, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in EPC Oil & Gas projects, a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and at least 10 years of experience in a similar role. Accommodation and transport are provided, along with an excellent salary package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of work experience.
• Significant experience in a similar position on EPC Oil & Gas projects/refinery.
• Knowledgeable of machinery equipment: pumps, compressors, and mechanical seals.
• Knowledgeable of machinery equipment: pumps, compressors, and mechanical seals, seal arrangement and piping plan.
• Experienced in inspection of packages, vessels / columns, heat exchangers inspections.
• Experienced in preparing large motor for solo run test.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractor activities in alignment with project documents.
• Supervise/execute equipment’s alignment and bolt torquing.
• Able to line up piping system and execute pumps & compressors start-up.
• Line up piping systems and start-up and mechanical run-in of pumps & compressors.
• Lead the field team of foremen and workers to perform assigned daily tasks efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with commissioning operators during inspections.
• Familiar with inspection and test programs and inspection forms.
• Prepare risk assessments and JHA.
• Be ready to be a certified permit holder by understanding site HSE rules and LOTO system.

• The Construction Mechanical Supervisor (Machinery Supervisor)directs the subcontractor activities in his / her own discipline,ensuring that plant construction works are performed according to theerection schedules and project documents within the assigned costbudget, according to the quality & safety procedures as well asaccording to the terms and conditions of the subcontract.

Duties and responsibilities

• Good understanding of P&ID and mechanical drawings,and understanding of battery limit of system and packages.
• Capable to supervise/execute equipment’s alignment,bolt torquing.
• Able to supervise and execute lube oil flushingand chemical cleaning activity.
• Able to line up piping system and execute pumps& compressors start-up and mechanical run in.
• Ability to Lead the field team of foreman andworkers in the execution of the assigned daily task in an efficientmanner.
• Good in communication skills and in dealingwith commissioning operators at the time of inspection
• Familiar with inspection and test programs andthe inspection forms.
• Preparation of risk assessment and JHA.
