Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Abu Dhabi seeks a skilled Control Room Operator to oversee the central monitoring station and related systems. You will manage 24-hour engineering emergency calls, generate diagnostic reports, and coordinate with field staff to ensure swift, safe resolutions.

The role requires experience in building management systems, strong English communication, and ability to perform predictive maintenance using maintenance software.

Qualifications

• Experience in luxury properties preferred.
• Certification or training in Building Management Systems (BMS) advantageous.
• Fluency in English required for clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth operation of the central monitoring station and all associated systems.
• Manage and respond to 24-hour engineering emergency calls.
• Prepare diagnostic reports to support the technical team as per procedures.
• Monitor and control the Central Fire Alarm System.
• Record completed work orders and coordinate with field staff.
• Liaise with Fire, Gas, Electricity, Security and building management during emergencies.
• Respond to alarm reports and take prompt action to resolve issues.

Job description

• Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the central monitoring station and all associated systems
• Manage and respond to 24-hour engineering emergency calls
• Prepare and generate diagnostic reports from systems to support the technical team in accordance with the Control Room Operators Procedure Manual
• Monitor operate and control the Central Fire Alarm System
• Record completed work orders in the database and coordinate follow-up with field staff
• Liaise with the Fire Department Gas Electricity Water Departments Security and building management personnel during emergencies
• Respond to system alarm reports and take prompt appropriate action to resolve issues

Are you

• Previous experience in the same role in luxury property, resort experience is a plus
• Certification or training in Building Management Systems (BMS) or related control systems is an added advantage.
• Strong ability to resolve engineering issues using both theoretical and practical knowledge
• Proficient in predictive maintenance and the use of maintenance software applications
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
