Role Overview

Barista – Coffee Service in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a Hospitality hiring opportunity for a skilled food and beverage professional who can prepare quality coffee beverages, operate barista equipment, maintain service standards, and support smooth outlet operations in a hotel environment.

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates | Industry: Hospitality | Function: Food & Beverage | Serving Experience: 1‑2 years experience in a 4‑5 star hotel | Job Type: Full‑time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve coffee beverages according to prescribed recipes, preparation methods, presentation standards, and guest preferences.
  • Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, and related beverage equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory of coffee beans, cups, syrups, milk, beverage supplies, and other outlet items required for daily operations.
  • Monitor operating supplies and help reduce spoilage, wastage, and unnecessary consumption.
  • Provide courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service in line with hotel standards of performance.
  • Follow established opening and closing procedures for the assigned outlet or service area.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of food and beverage menu items and recommend suitable combinations to guests.
  • Support natural upselling by suggesting alternative beverages, food pairings, promotions, and specialty coffee options.
  • Keep the workplace, counter area, equipment, storage spaces, and surrounding service areas clean and organized at all times.
  • Handle guest enquiries politely and efficiently while creating a positive service experience.
  • Report guest complaints or service problems to supervisors when an immediate solution cannot be provided.
  • Assist with follow‑up on guest concerns to support service recovery and satisfaction.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, bi‑yearly, and yearly inventory checks for operating equipment and supplies.
  • Report to duty punctually in the correct uniform and name tag.
  • Maintain high standards of grooming, personal hygiene, and professional appearance.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other hotel departments.
  • Follow the hotel employee handbook, internal rules, departmental standards, and operating procedures.
  • Comply with fire, hygiene, health, safety, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Attend training sessions, meetings, briefings, and skills development programs as required.
  • Remain flexible to rotate within Food and Beverage sub‑departments or support other hotel areas when assigned.
  • Carry out reasonable additional tasks requested by the Assistant Manager, supervisor, or hotel management.
Ideal Profile
  • Diploma or degree in vocational hospitality, hotel management, food and beverage service, or a related field.
  • 1‑2 years of experience in a 4‑5 star hotel, cafe, restaurant, resort, or similar hospitality environment.
  • Practical knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso extraction, beverage recipes, milk steaming, and barista equipment operation.
  • Understanding of food and beverage operational standards, policies, procedures, and service expectations.
  • Ability to work neatly and efficiently while maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and product consistency.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact politely with guests and colleagues.
  • Comfortable recommending beverages, answering menu questions, and supporting upselling in a guest‑friendly manner.
  • Strong attention to detail in drink preparation, presentation, stock control, and service timing.
  • Flexible approach to shift work, department rotation, training, and changing hotel business needs.
  • Positive attitude, punctuality, and commitment to delivering friendly and professional hospitality service.
