Job summary

BDO India is seeking an experienced audit professional to lead external engagements for clients in the Financial Services sector, with emphasis on banks and finance companies in Dubai. You will manage audit planning, execution, and reporting in line with IFRS and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 3–5 years in banking audits, Big 4/Big 6 exposure preferred, and professional qualifications such as CA/ACCA/CPA. Excellent English communication and stakeholder skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required.
• 3–5 years of experience auditing banks, preferably with Big 4/Big 6 firms.
• Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards, IFRS 9 and IFRS 15.
• Strong understanding of banking audit methodologies, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Fluent in English with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute external audit engagements for clients within the Financial Services sector, particularly banks and finance companies, ensuring high-quality audit documentation.
• Review financial statements of allocated assignments as per IFRS standards.
• Manage audit engagement from planning to completion, including planning, procedures, and reporting.
• Engage with clients timely to ensure turnaround of audit deliverables.
• Identify and discuss audit and accounting issues with the team and client, proposing resolutions.
• Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to the client and Audit Committee/BOD/TCWG.
• Anticipate client needs and propose value-adding services and solutions.
• Provide exceptional client service by understanding requirements and ensuring timely delivery.
• Stay updated on local regulations, IFRS changes, and audit methodology; discuss changes with clients proactively.
