Job summary

BDO UAE is seeking a Manager for Audit & Assurance (Bank Audit) based in Dubai. The role focuses on leading bank audit engagements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations, and maintaining strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in public accounting with bank audit experience, professional qualifications (CA/ACCA/CPA), and fluent English. You will mentor staff, manage engagement economics and contribute to firm growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in public accounting and audit management.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS reporting standards.
• CA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent is required.
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking, and writing).
• Bank audit experience is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Builds trust by meeting stakeholder needs while providing constructive challenges on engagement issues.
• Recognises opportunities to add value by leveraging firm specialists as part of the core audit engagement team.
• Review documentation of flows of transactions and tests of relevant controls early in the audit cycle.
• Run file checks regularly and manage engagement file structure, including group engagements.
• Engage early with scheduling and extended engagement team; build relationships with clients and team members.
• Clearly communicate expectations regarding responsibilities and deadlines to the engagement team.
• Identify, research and resolve complex audit issues.
• Budget and monitor the financial performance of engagements to optimise profitability.
• Keep up to date with service offerings and opportunities for business growth across the firm.
