Job summary

BDO UAE is seeking a qualified External Audit professional to lead and execute audits for financial services clients, with emphasis on banks and finance companies, ensuring compliance with BDO audit methodology and IFRS standards.

You will manage audit engagements from planning to reporting, review financial statements, liaise with clients, and deliver high-quality audit documentation while maintaining strong client service and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required.
• 3–4 years’ banking audit experience, preferably with Big 4/Big 6 firms.
• Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, or CPA required.
• Strong IFRS knowledge, including IFRS 9 and IFRS 15.
• Fluent English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute external audit engagements for financial services clients, focusing on banks and finance companies.
• Review financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage audit projects from planning to completion, including planning, procedures, and reporting.
• Ensure timely client engagement and turnaround of deliverables.
• Discuss audit and accounting issues with the client and provide resolutions.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings to the client and audit committee.
• Stay updated on local regulations, IFRS changes, and audit methodology.
