The unit is responsible for conducting the Group Compliance Assurance Review programme to verify that the Group complies with the regulatory requirements and internal compliance policies and procedures.
This entails planning development and implementation of a risk-based Group Compliance assurance review plan working with business units to undertake reviews and issuing reports that provide assurance as well as highlighting deficiencies so they can be rectified.
The Compliance Assurance function is responsible for maintaining a log of all compliance related issues across the Group.
The function also aids in the development of compliance reports to support the OPFO, GCC and BRCC.
To establish an effective Group-wide Compliance Assurance function to develop a Compliance testing plan and execute risk-based compliance testing reviews to assess whether controls are effective to ensure the Bank s Group Compliance policies and regulatory requirements are being adhered to and escape to the Bank s senior management events of material non-compliance or insufficiently mitigated risks.
