Autorun - OMODA JAECOO Dubai is seeking a Senior Technician (EV + ICE) to join our After Sales / Workshop Team in Dubai. You will diagnose, repair, service, and maintain EV and ICE vehicles following manufacturer standards.

You will handle complex repairs, support junior technicians, ensure safety, and uphold workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction in a fast‑growing UAE dealership.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical certification in Automotive Technology or related field is required.
• Hands-on experience on EV and ICE vehicles at a UAE dealership or authorized service centre is essential.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and workshop tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on EV and ICE vehicles.
• Identify faults using manufacturer-approved diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Carry out repairs on engines, transmissions, braking, suspension, steering, and other components.
• Diagnose EV-specific systems including motors, power electronics, charging, and high-voltage components.
• Inspect vehicles to determine root causes and recommend repair solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing per manufacturer guidelines.
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and support the Workshop Supervisor.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Technician (EV + ICE) to join our After Sales / Workshop Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining electric vehicles (EVs) and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards and company procedures. The role also involves handling complex technical repairs, supporting junior technicians, ensuring vehicle safety and repair quality, and maintaining high standards of workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Vehicle Diagnosis & Repair

• Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on EV and ICE vehicles.
• Identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using manufacturer-approved diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Carry out repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, and other vehicle components.
• Diagnose and repair EV-specific systems, including electric motors, power electronics, charging systems, and high-voltage components, within the technician's training and authorization.
• Inspect vehicles to identify faults, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Safety & Maintenance

• Follow established high-voltage safety procedures when working on electric and hybrid vehicles.
• Perform high-voltage isolation and electrical safety verification only when appropriately trained and authorized.
• Inspect EV battery systems, charging components, and electrical connections in accordance with manufacturer procedures.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and specialized tools when handling high-voltage systems.
• Immediately report safety risks, battery abnormalities, or hazardous conditions to the Workshop Supervisor.

Quality Control & Technical Standards

• Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities meet manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
• Conduct post-repair inspections and functional tests to confirm that vehicles are safe and operating correctly.
• Accurately record diagnostic findings, repairs performed, parts used, and labour details on job cards.
• Identify recurring technical issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent repeat repairs.
• Ensure the proper use and care of workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and service facilities.

Team Support & Technical Guidance

• Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and other workshop team members.
• Assist the Workshop Supervisor in allocating technical tasks and resolving complex repair issues.
• Share technical knowledge and best practices related to EV and ICE vehicle systems.
• Support on-the-job training and contribute to improving the technical capabilities of the workshop team.

Workshop Operations & Compliance

• Follow company policies, manufacturer repair procedures, and workshop health and safety requirements.
• Ensure workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices are used correctly and maintained properly.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors, Parts staff, and Workshop Supervisors regarding repair progress, spare parts requirements, and technical findings.
• Complete assigned jobs within specified timelines while maintaining repair quality and safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Diploma or technical certification in Automotive Technology, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant hands-on experience as an automotive technician, with practical experience working on both EV and ICE vehicles at an automotive dealership or authorized service centre in UAE.
• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, electronic, and diagnostic systems.
• Practical experience using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
• EV high-voltage safety training and relevant authorization for assigned EV work.
• Strong vehicle diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to interpret wiring diagrams and diagnostic fault codes.
• Ability to identify root causes and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong awareness of workshop safety and high-voltage handling procedures.
