Job summary

ADNOC Abu Dhabi UAE is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer specialized in Control Systems to assess, support, upgrade, and validate industrial control and plant information systems within a safety‑critical Oil & Energy environment.

The role requires broad knowledge of ICS, DCS, real‑time information systems, LIMS, and MIS reporting, with a focus on system reliability, performance, and lifecycle management. You will lead technical specifications, bid evaluations, and project coordination.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Automation Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

Responsibilities

Assess existing industrial control systems for operational reliability and future readiness.
Review obsolescence, spare parts availability, vendor support, interoperability, and compliance with standards.
Audit performance of automation and plant information systems to identify gaps and improvements.
Recommend improvements to enhance system reliability, data quality, and safe operation.
Develop and update technical specifications and design documents for automation systems.
Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate automation applications and system upgrades.
Develop system function specs, design docs, as-built records, manuals, and training materials.
Coordinate with site maintenance and vendors for upgrades and support.
Provide expertise to plant teams in real-time process information and LIMS.
Support alarm management, control loop monitoring, and MES applications.
Prepare scopes of work, tender packages, and technical requirements for projects.
Participate in bid evaluations to ensure solutions meet standards and needs.
Coordinate implementation, commissioning, and verification of approved projects.
Ensure projects adhere to budgets, timelines, technical requirements, and safety expectations.
Plan, supervise, and coordinate automation activities and staff development.
Contribute to budgets and work plans; track variances and cost controls.
Implement policies and procedures per ADNOC and international standards.
Contribute to performance objectives and drive process improvements.
Design tools and techniques to improve operation quality and productivity.
Identify internal improvements aligned with industry best practices and standards.
Ensure HSE compliance and accurate MIS reporting.
