Job description

Job Purpose

The Audio-Visual Technician supports the installation, configuration, and maintenance of AV and IT systems, ensuring all studio and broadcast equipment operates efficiently and according to technical plans.

Responsibilities:
  1. Install various AV and IT equipment in the new studios according to the plan or diagram provided by the Broadcast Engineer.
  2. Assemble professional video cameras, including lens, onboard monitor, and power supplies.
  3. Install professional video cameras in the studio and connect them via SDI wires to server room equipment.
  4. Ensure all digital video signals from cameras reach the desired equipment (video switcher, capturing device, monitor).
  5. Run low voltage wiring (Video, Audio, and Network Cabling) through studios and facilities, including installing Server Racks, cameras, NVR/DVR, and other technological infrastructure.
  6. Run SDI, XLR, and Ethernet cables; tipping wire, crimping, and testing are essential parts of installations.
  7. Install professional studio lighting fixtures and modifiers according to the lighting scheme.
  8. Analyze and repair technical faults on equipment and systems.
  9. Minimize service loss when equipment fails by quickly identifying issues and implementing alternative solutions.
Requirements:
  1. Experience with assembling/disassembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing computers/hardware.
  2. Knowledge and use of basic test equipment such as multimeters, along with basic AC/DC circuitry understanding.
  3. Knowledge of installing and soldering components on printed circuit boards following specifications.
  4. Basic knowledge of installing operating systems like Windows and Linux.
  5. Ability to install and configure computer peripheral devices and drivers such as monitors, scanners, and additional boards.
  6. Some understanding of a television control room environment.
  7. Eagerness to learn new technical skills.
  8. Basic knowledge of operating a video camera.
  9. Basic understanding of sound equipment like microphones and audio mixers.
  10. Understanding of photography concepts such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure, and camera lenses is a plus.
