The Wellness Attendant’s role consists of, but is not limited to, welcoming every guest and being visible, approachable and available at all times for guests to call upon for assistance. In addition to handling guest requests and comfort in the public areas and facilities of the spa, responsibilities also include ensuring the Spa & Wellness public areas & facilities (gym, spa, hammam, salon, changing rooms, heat facilities, swimming pool surrounds, outdoor areas and all reception areas) and back of house is kept impeccably clean, hygienic & well-stocked with amenities at all times during operational hours, committing to compliance with the Spa’s international 5 star standards. Clear and concise co-ordination of communication between guests, the spa reception, and service providers is paramount, and the Fitness Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring all guest requests and requirements are anticipated, clarified and provided for while at the Spa & Wellness Center. Detailed cleaning tasks and organization of all areas within the spa is also a responsibility, as is supporting the therapists with the turnover of the treatment areas if required by management.

About The Role

• Will perform as a professional, mindful of the sensitive nature of working within a spa environment, have a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the position, or assigned by the Wellness Director.
• Will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the entire Spa & Wellness facility, in particular the changing rooms, toilets, showers, relaxation areas, hammam sensorium, vitality and heat facilities, indoor and outdoor public spaces and some areas back of house.
• Will be responsible to assist therapists in the treatment rooms as and when required. These should be kept in a neat, tidy and sanitary manner in accordance with the Standards and Procedure and Health and Safety Standards.
• To set up prior and post operational hours and maintain throughout the day all standard set up procedures and preparation of all areas in the spa.
• Will have attention to detail and be able to arrange spa amenities, linen, food and beverage, reading material and other displays in a decorative manner, mindful of functionality and aesthetics.
• To assist in the smooth flow of the guest’s journey throughout the day - clear, concise information and communication between all spa colleagues ie. WEA, Attendants, Therapists or Fitness team and guests to ensure monitoring of where guests are in the facility, that they are in the correct waiting areas, attired comfortably for the services they will be having, and handling any other guest requests or needs during their time at the Spa.
• Provide encouragement and help guests with keeping motivated if in the fitness center and ensure positive guest experiences and deliver impeccable 5-star guest service.
• Monitor and ensure that fitness equipment is kept clean and hygienic between guests and is functioning correctly.
• Pro-actively engage and acknowledge guests, offer towels, refreshments and reading materials, and ensure their needs are met.
• If assigned in the Fitness Center area, to constantly monitor guests and walk the floor of the Fitness Center, Swimming Pool, Changing Rooms and Fitness Center Reception - ensuring clean towels and guest amenities are stocked, soiled towels and any rubbish or used amenities are removed, lockers are refreshed, and the facilities are kept clean, tidy and presentation is according to the Spa SOP’s and standards.
• Will be expected to ensure lockers are stocked with clean linen at all times and remove soiled linen.
• Assist with cleaning of pool area and outdoor relaxation areas.
• Daily task and cleaning lists are completed throughout your shift, prioritizing guest service.
• Assist therapists with preparation of treatment rooms when required.
• To maintain inventory of supplies, disposables, cleaning products and accessories and the turnover of linen daily, trash removal, slipper sanitization and all tasks required to ensure a smooth operation and guest delight.
• Attend daily briefings at the beginning of each shift, and weekly or monthly meetings as and when scheduled.
• Have full knowledge of all services, products and areas of the spa in order to assist guests with information when required.
• Report any odd behavior or special comments from guests to the manager.
• Attend trainings as per resort requirements.
• Be flexible in working schedules as per resort requirements.
• Carry out any other duties as set down by the Wellness Director’s requirements.

About You

• Must be confident, willing, and able to communicate clearly with guests and spa colleagues, and understand the sensitive nature of the environment of the Spa (nudity, personal space, peaceful)
• Organizational skills - it's the small details that collectively make up a guest experience, so attention to and appreciation of this is essential.
• Willing to learn new skills and be open to follow directions and instruction as well as use common sense.
• Good level of spoken English, other languages highly regarded.
• Must be interested in the Spa and Wellness industry, be able to work autonomously as well as within a team environment, and be flexible with working hours and schedules.
• Previous experience working in a similar facility, or as a public area cleaner, housekeeping, or any other guest contact position highly regarded.
• Cleaning makes up a large portion of the daily work schedule.
