The Associate Vice President – Learning and Development is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive learning and talent development strategy to support workforce excellence within a dynamic healthcare environment. This includes leadership development, clinical and non-clinical training, e-learning strategies, and succession planning initiatives. The role ensures alignment with national healthcare standards, organizational goals, and workforce development needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall L&D strategy aligned with organizational and HR objectives.
• Lead the design and delivery of training programs that foster continuous professional development.
• Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare education and accreditation standards.
• Oversee clinical education programs in collaboration with medical and nursing leadership.
• Champion leadership and talent development frameworks, including high-potential programs.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for training effectiveness.
• Lead digital transformation in learning using e-learning platforms and simulation-based training.
• Build partnerships with academic and regulatory bodies in the UAE and internationally.
• Manage the L&D budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and ROI.
• Supervise a team of L&D professionals, providing coaching and performance oversight.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and employee engagement across all levels.
• Support organizational change management through targeted learning initiatives.
• Oversee competency development frameworks for clinical and non-clinical roles.
• Lead succession planning and career pathing strategies for critical roles.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for executive leadership on learning outcomes and impact.

Qualifications

Education:

• Master’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Education, Healthcare Administration, or related field is required.
• Professional certifications such as CPLP, SHRM-SCP, CIPD, or equivalent are preferred.

Knowledge & skills:

• Digital Training in Healthcare: Skilled in digital training within healthcare, with a focus on patient experience and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
• Artificial Intelligence (Preferred): Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in learning and development is preferred.
• In-depth understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and performance improvement.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation frameworks (e.g., DHA, DOH, JCIA).
• Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and virtual learning tools.
• Data analysis skills to measure and optimize learning effectiveness.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
