Role Context

The Associate Structural Engineer is responsible for supporting structural engineering activities across design and project execution stages while learning industry standards, engineering methods, and project delivery practices. This role contributes to design quality, documentation accuracy, structural calculations, and technical support while working closely with senior engineers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed structural design engineering, analysis, and calculations for routine project tasks
  • Prepare clear and accurate design calculations, engineering reports, and technical procedures
  • Complete assigned work under close supervision while meeting project deadlines and quality expectations
  • Gain understanding of project scope, specifications, schedules, and inter-discipline requirements
  • Perform computer analysis of structures designed by senior engineers under technical guidance
  • Prepare structural design calculations and supporting documentation as required
  • Perform engineering checks of drafting and review design outputs for accuracy
  • Apply project specifications, standards, and engineering codes during calculations and design tasks
  • Prepare material take-offs for primary structures under supervision
  • Provide engineering support to fabrication, construction, and project execution teams
  • Assist in preparation of subcontract documentation and technical support files
  • Review vendor data and technical submissions with support from experienced colleagues
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry or related engineering sectors
  • Preferably Registered Engineer in Training or member of a professional engineering society
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop technical engineering skills
  • Good English communication skills in writing and speaking
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, codes, and structural design methods
  • Strong attention to quality, HSE, TQM, and cost-conscious project delivery
