Job summary

Modon Communities seeks an experienced Senior Record to Report professional in Abu Dhabi to support the R2R function within Finance Shared Services. You will manage month-end close, reconciliations, and balance sheet substantiation to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

Responsibilities include fixed assets and IFRS 16 lease accounting, general journals, and audit readiness, with collaboration across Financial Control, FP&A, and Treasury.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in finance operations with R2R/GL focus.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial controls.
• Proficiency in Oracle Fusion and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI is a plus.
• Professional certifications (CA/CPA/ACCA) required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Month-end, quarter-end, and annual closing activities.
• Own bank, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support balance sheet substantiation framework and misstatement identification.
• Maintain fixed asset register; manage IFRS 16 (ROU assets/liabilities).
• Prepare and process general journals with approvals.
• Maintain audit-ready reconciliations and documentation.
• Collaborate with Financial Control, FP&A, and Treasury to validate balances.
• Support process improvement and automation, especially Oracle Fusion.

Job description

Support the Record to Report (R2R) function within Finance Shared Services by ensuring timely financial close, accurate reconciliations, and robust balance sheet substantiation. The role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of Modon Communities’ financial statements through effective management of fixed assets, lease accounting, general journals, governance, and compliance.

1. Month-End Close

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with IFRS requirements.

2. Balance Sheet Reconciliations

• Own bank, intercompany, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve variances in a timely manner.

3. Balance Sheet Substantiation

• Support the Manager – Record to Report in maintaining a structured balance sheet substantiation framework.
• Identify potential misstatements and ensure appropriate corrective actions.

4. Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting

• Maintain the fixed asset register, including capitalization, depreciation, impairment, and disposals.
• Manage IFRS 16 lease accounting, including Right-of-Use (ROU) assets and lease liabilities.

5. General Journals

• Prepare and process general journals with appropriate supporting documentation and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.

6. Audit Readiness

• Maintain complete and audit-ready reconciliation, fixed asset, and supporting documentation.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Financial Control, FP&A, and Treasury teams to validate balances and resolve accounting issues.
• Ensure alignment of financial reporting across functions.

8. Process Improvement & Best Practices

• Support the Manager – Record to Report in standardizing R2R processes, reporting packs, and reconciliations.
• Promote automation and effective system adoption, particularly Oracle Fusion.
• Contribute to a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• CA, CPA, or ACCA certification is required.

Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in finance operations, preferably within R2R, GL, financial control, or controllership.
• Experience in large or diversified organizations.
• Strong hands-on experience in:
