Key Responsibilities
- Monitor monthly financial closing activities with Shared Services teams and ensure completion within Group deadlines.
- Review closing schedules, outstanding transactions, accruals, provisions, and accounting adjustments.
- Confirm that financial results are complete, accurate, and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Identify month‑end reporting issues and coordinate corrective action with relevant finance teams.
- Improve the quality and efficiency of recurring book‑closing activities.
- Conduct detailed reviews of key automotive accounts within the Trial Balance.
- Substantiate balance sheet accounts using reconciliations, schedules, confirmations, and supporting records.
- Investigate unusual balances, aged reconciling items, unexplained movements, and accounting inconsistencies.
- Ensure reconciling items are assigned, tracked, and resolved within appropriate timelines.
- Maintain clear evidence supporting account balances for management and audit review.
- Strengthen Record to Report processes through accounting standardization and control improvements.
- Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger and key control accounts.
- Support accurate accounting and reporting for fixed assets, depreciation, additions, transfers, and disposals.
- Review month‑end procedures and recommend changes that improve accuracy, control, and reporting speed.
- Promote consistent accounting practices across automotive business units.
- Prepare monthly management reports using approved templates and reporting standards.
- Submit complete and accurate reports within agreed deadlines.
- Add meaningful commentary explaining financial movements, variances, risks, and unusual transactions.
- Review management reporting packs with the Finance Manager or AGM Finance.
- Provide supporting schedules and analysis needed for business performance reviews.
- Assist overseas entities by reviewing existing financial processes and identifying control gaps.
- Share practical Record to Report best practices with local and international finance teams.
- Support the standardization of reconciliations, closing procedures, reporting formats, and documentation.
- Coordinate external audit requirements for assigned automotive entities.
- Prepare and provide audit schedules, account reconciliations, explanations, and supporting evidence.
- Respond accurately to auditor queries and follow up on outstanding information requests.
- Help ensure external audits are completed within agreed reporting timelines.
- Support the preparation of standalone financial statements for automotive entities.
- Follow Group Finance and Divisional Controlling guidance when preparing financial disclosures and schedules.
- Verify that financial statement balances agree with the underlying general ledger.
- Apply applicable accounting policies, governance requirements, and reporting controls.
- Maintain organized financial records that support internal reviews, statutory reporting, and audit requirements.
- Use SAP and relevant reporting tools to extract, review, reconcile, and validate financial data.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and reduce manual accounting activity.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives across finance and Shared Services functions.
- Escalate material accounting errors, unresolved reconciliations, and reporting risks promptly.
- Collaborate with business finance, Shared Services, controlling, and audit teams.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling financial and business information.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA is advantageous.
- 2–3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience within a large organization.
- Practical experience in Record to Report, general ledger accounting, or financial closing.
- Sound knowledge of month‑end closing, Trial Balance review, and balance sheet substantiation.
- Experience preparing account reconciliations and resolving outstanding reconciling items.
- Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and management reporting.
- Ability to prepare accurate financial schedules and commentary for management review.
- Exposure to external audit coordination and financial statement preparation.
- Strong working knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems.
- Proficiency in SAP is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP BW and SAP BPC is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
- Process‑oriented approach with careful attention to financial accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to organize competing priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.
