Job summary

SO/ Uptown Dubai is seeking an Assistant Waiter to join our dining team in Dubai, UAE. You will support the dining service, assist the lead waiter, and help ensure an exceptional guest experience in a fast-paced luxury setting.

Fluent English is essential; Arabic or additional languages are a plus. The role includes training sessions and opportunities for growth within the SO/ Uptown Dubai food & beverage team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent English; Arabic or other language skills are a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and computing bills.
• Attention to detail in food presentation and table settings.
• Knowledge of food & beverage service techniques (preferred).
• Previous experience in food service or hospitality (preferred).
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead waiter in serving food and beverages to guests.

• Greet and seat guests, provide menus, and answer basic menu questions.
• Take and relay drink orders to the bar staff.
• Refill water glasses and attend to other guest needs during the dining experience.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
• Process payments and handle cash transactions when necessary.
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training sessions.
