Job summary

Serco in Dubai Airports is seeking an HVAC Assistant Technician to carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on HVAC equipment and systems, solo or as part of a team, with emphasis on safety and minimal operational disruption.

The role requires reading HVAC drawings, using test equipment, and ensuring compliance with local and international standards. Proficiency in English and MS Office is essential; experience in facility management helps.

Qualifications

• Industrial Training Institute Diploma in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Maintenance or equivalent (post high school).
• Minimum 3 years experience within Facility Management or similar environment.
• Ability to communicate with staff, stakeholders and customers in English (oral and written).
• Ability to construct technical reports and spreadsheets/presentations using MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform safely and correctly the following on HVAC equipment and systems (electric and mechanical isolations, PM/CM/BD).
• Knowledge of safety standards and LOTO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conform to general and specific technical safety requirements at all times.
• Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor/duty engineer to achieve purpose.
• Maintain good knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Read, interpret and describe HVAC drawings and schematics irrespective of manufacturer.
• Set up and use test equipment and interpret results on standalone and integrated HVAC systems (Manifold Gauge, DMM, Clamp Meter, Temp/Humidity, Vacuum Gauge, Leak Detector).
• Follow Local and International Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Standards and Regulations.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for HVAC Assistnat Technician to carryout preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on Mechanical / HVAC equipment and systems, individually or as part of a technical team, within a designated area, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the operations.

An ideal candidate should carry out all technical and safety rules to ensure compliance with business standards.

The role will be based in Dubai Airports.

Key accountabilities

• Ability to conform to all general and specific technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the health, safety & welfare of self and others at work
• Any other work as assigned by the supervisor / duty engineer to achieve the purpose.
• Good Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Can read interpret and describe the functionality of HVAC system drawings (circuit & wiring diagrams / schematic & layout drawings) irrespective of manufacturer
• Can correctly setup and use test equipment and interpret the test results on standalone and integrated HVAC systems, to include: Manifold Gauge, Digital Multi meter, Clamp Meter, Temperature / Humidity Meter, Vacuum Gauge and Refrigeration Leak Detector.
• Knowledge in the use & interpretation of Local and International Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Standards and Regulations

Specific requirements

• Industrial Training Institute Diploma (2 year duration) in Air Conditioning &Refrigeration Maintenance or equivalent (post high school)
• Minimum 3 year experience within a Facility Management or similar environment.
• Ability to communicate with staff, stakeholders and customers in oral and written English
• Ability to construct technical reports and spreadsheets and presentations using MS Office (Word / Excel / Power point).
• Ability to perform safely and correctly the following on complex air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) equipment and systems.
• Electrical & Mechanical Isolations and LOTO.
• Planned preventative maintenance (PM) routines
• Corrective maintenance (CM)
• Breakdown maintenance (BD), to include: Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, Exhaust, Fresh Air and Extraction Fan, Air Conditioning Systems, Package Units, Ducted Split Units, Decorative Split Units, Window Units, Computer & Server Room Air conditioning Units (CRACUs) and Humidifiers & Dehumidifiers.
