Job summary

Dubai Airports is seeking an Assistant Technician FM Civil and Furniture/ Painter to perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance in civil and airfield civil works. The role requires reading drawings, applying paints, and ensuring safety compliance within a dynamic airport environment.

Applicants should have a 2-year Painting & Decorating diploma or equivalent and IOSH Working Safely certification, plus 3 years FM/civil works experience. UAE driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Industrial Training Institute Certificate / Diploma in painting and decorating (2 years)
• IOSH Working Safely Certificate
• Current UAE driving licence is desirable
• Minimum of 3 years experience in facility management and/or civil works
• Airport experience is an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance within civil works and/or airfield civil works sections
• Read, interpret and describe the functionality of civil works drawings (schematic & layout)
• Commit to safety requirements to protect health, safety and welfare at work
• Maintain indoor/outdoor walls and furniture including gypsum walls and wooden wall claddings
• Prepare painting surfaces, mix and apply paints and finishes
• Perform painting and decorating using hand and power tools, support PM/CM/BD routines

Job description

We are looking for Assistant Technician FM Civil and Furniture/ Painter to carryout necessary preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance within a civil works section and/or airfield civil works section, individually or as part of a technical team, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the business operations.

The role will be based in Dubai Airports.

Key Accountabilities

• Ability to conform to all general and technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the health, safety & welfare of self and others at work.
• Any other work as assigned by the supervisor / duty engineer to achieve the purpose.
• Can read interpret and describe the functionality of civil works drawings (schematic & layout drawing)
• Knowledge in the use & interpretation of Local and International Standards and Regulations.
• Direct Assets Exposure but not limited to Indoor and outdoor walls, Various types of wall units Gypsum walls, Wooden wall claddings, Various types of furniture
• Tasks’ Experience (Hands-on) Tasks such as, but not limited to: Conduct Inspections to determine the need for painting, Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces
• Ability to perform safely and correctly use of painting & decorating hand and power tools, Planned preventative maintenance (PM) routines, Corrective maintenance (CM) Breakdown maintenance (BD)

Specific requirements

• Industrial Training Institute Certificate / Diploma (2 year duration) in painting and decorating or equivalent (post high school)
• IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent
• Current valid UAE driving licence is desirable
• Minimum three (3) year experience within facility management and/or civil works or similar environment.
• Airport experience is considered as added advantage for this position
