Job summary

ILF Consulting Engineers UAE is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support mechanical inspections for water and wastewater facilities in Abu Dhabi. You will supervise onsite installations, review technical docs, and ensure compliance with designs and standards while maintaining safety and quality.

You will coordinate with the Resident Engineer, monitor progress of pipelines, pumps, HVAC, and related equipment, and contribute to technical reporting and contract administration as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in mechanical inspection, preferably in water/wastewater facilities.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in STPs: pumps, piping, valves, blowers, compressors.
• Familiar with ASME, API, ISO standards and health & safety guidelines.
• Expertise in piping and process equipment installation, root cause analysis, problem solving.
• Ability to lead mechanical installations, inspections, and multiple piping concerns.
• Experience supervising mechanical installations in line with contract documents and codes.
• Prior UAE/Gulf region experience in similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Support the Resident Engineer in supervising mechanical works, esp in water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Oversee construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and standards.
• Review method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings for technical compliance.
• Monitor progress of mechanical works including pipelines, pumps, HVAC systems, compressors, blowers, and valves.
• Ensure quality control procedures are followed and participate in testing, commissioning, acceptance of systems.
• Maintain site records such as inspection reports, daily logs, NCRs, and RFIs.
• Participate in site meetings and prepare technical reports on progress and quality.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations on‑site.
• Assist in contract administration and resolution of technical issues, including review of original piping design.
